Subsea Engineering & Installation
VURIN delivers end-to-end subsea capability, from FEED and detailed engineering through SURF installation, deepwater pipelay, cable laying, and subsea tie-backs. Our execution fluency on complex, high-value offshore campaigns is a core capability, not peripheral capacity.
Subsea Capabilities
We manage the complex architecture of pipelines, umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF) from FEED through deepwater tie-backs and provide the strategic project management oversight that binds engineering, procurement, fabrication, and marine operations into a single accountable delivery structure necessary to deliver projects on time and within budget. Ensuring the structural integrity and flow assurance critical to continuous offshore production, vessel scheduling, and rigorous QA protocols demanded by international operators in Nigeria's challenging offshore environment.
Subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines: end-to-end design, fabrication, and installation for deepwater tie-back developments.
Heavy-duty offshore pipelaying for regional trunklines, riser installation, and subsea structure placement with our fleet of pipelay barges.
Submarine power cable and fibre optic installation for offshore energy infrastructure and interconnectors.
Engineering for high-pressure, extreme-temperature subsea environments: manifolds, templates, and intervention systems.
Keeping production flowing reliably from reservoir to facility across the full field lifecycle, managing hydrates, wax, and scale.
Autonomous subsea vehicles for inspection, maintenance, and in-situ repair at depths conventional methods cannot reach.
Complete subsea field architecture: wellheads, trees, manifolds, jumpers, and production control systems.
High-grade oil country tubular goods for high-pressure, high-temperature, and corrosive well environments.
We evaluate subsea architecture options against reservoir characteristics, seabed geotechnics, metocean data, and field economics. Our FEED deliverables include subsea layout optimisation, riser configuration studies, installation feasibility assessments, and CAPEX/OPEX modelling that gives operators the confidence to sanction with precision.
Our engineering teams produce IFC-quality deliverables across structural, mechanical, piping, and controls disciplines. We design subsea structures, pipeline systems, umbilical termination assemblies, and subsea distribution units to Class Society and operator-specific specifications, with full interface management across concurrent work scopes.
We manage the procurement of long-lead subsea equipment, including trees, manifolds, HPUs, and flexible pipe, with full vendor qualification and expediting. Our fabrication oversight covers structural steel, spoolbase operations, and subsea assembly, with dimensional control and weld quality surveillance that meets DNV, ABS, and BV requirements.
VURIN manages the full offshore installation campaign: vessel mobilisation, marine operations, pipelay, structure lowering, tie-in, flooding, hydrotesting, and pre-commissioning. We deliver integrated installation engineering packages and execute with our own marine spread or through managed vessel charters, maintaining single-point accountability from quayside to first oil.
Proven Track Record
VURIN has executed subsea programs across West Africa, the Gulf of Guinea, and the Middle East, delivering complex SURF campaigns, pipeline installations, and subsea infrastructure for Tier-1 operators in some of the most demanding offshore environments globally.
Full SURF installation for a multi-well deepwater development in 1,200m water depth, including rigid flowlines, flexible risers, umbilicals, and subsea manifold placement with concurrent diving operations.
Engineering, procurement, and installation of a 4-well subsea tie-back to an existing FPSO, including subsea trees, jumpers, flying leads, and a new subsea distribution unit with chemical injection capabilities.
Replacement of ageing trunkline infrastructure across a mature shallow-water field, including 86km of new pipeline, 12 riser replacements, shore approach HDD crossings, and pre-commissioning with nitrogen displacement.
Fleet and Subsea Assets
VURIN operates and manages a fleet of marine and subsea assets configured for deepwater installation, inspection, and intervention campaigns. Our equipment strategy prioritises availability, reliability, and the operational flexibility that complex programs demand.
S-lay and J-lay capable vessels for rigid and flexible pipeline installation across shallow water and deepwater environments. Our pipelay spread includes tensioners, firing lines, abandonment and recovery winches, and pipeline end termination capability.
DP-2 dive support vessels equipped for air and saturation diving operations, supporting subsea construction, tie-in, pipeline repair, and inspection campaigns. Full sat-diving systems with 18-man capacity for extended deepwater operations.
Inspection-class and work-class remotely operated vehicles for subsea survey, construction support, and intervention tasks. AUV capability for pipeline route surveys, seabed mapping, and environmental baseline assessments prior to installation campaigns.
Bespoke and standardised subsea tooling for structure installation, pipeline tie-in, hot tapping, mechanical connectors, and subsea bolt tensioning. Our tooling inventory includes hydraulic power units, pipeline end manifolds, and rigging spreads certified for critical lifts.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance
Deepwater subsea operations carry inherent risk that cannot be managed through policy statements alone. VURIN treats safety as an engineering discipline, embedded in every phase from FEED through offshore execution. Our safety management system is built on quantitative risk assessment, permit-to-work controls, and real-time monitoring of critical operational parameters during diving, lifting, and pipelay operations.
Our diving operations comply with IMCA, DMAC, and ADCI standards, with dedicated diving superintendents and life support technicians on every saturation campaign. We maintain ISM Code compliance across our managed vessel fleet and hold current Class Society approvals for all critical marine and subsea operations.
Every offshore campaign operates under VURIN's integrated HSEQ management system, which is audited annually against ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements. Our stop-work authority is unconditional and extends to every person on site, regardless of role or seniority.
During subsea operations, environmental protection is non-negotiable. Our Ocean Visuals OWL system deploys hyper-spectral LiDAR technology to create a continuous digital fence around your asset, detecting oil sheens at 0.1 microns in real time, day and night, with zero false alarms.
